Arthur “Artii” Smith is a Los Angeles-based, first-generation Sierra Leonean-American director, writer, producer and showrunner. Raised in Queens, New York, he is drawn to character-driven stories that explore family, identity, ambition and the choices people make under pressure.

Most recently, Artii served as showrunner on Unlikely Romances, Dhar Mann Studios’ first original television series for Samsung TV Plus, leading the four-episode scripted anthology from late-stage development through final delivery. As a Senior Producer at the studio, he has also overseen more than 50 half-hour scripted productions reaching over 200 million views.

His directing credits include multiple narrative shorts and the independent feature Lilin’s Brood, currently available on Tubi. His short film Don’t Try This Alone received the Grand Prize for Best Short Film at the Marina del Rey Film Festival and an Award of Excellence from Global Shorts.

Artii is a Roadmap Writers Diversity Fellow, Greenhouse Arts & Media Creative Lab Fellow and San Francisco Black Film Festival alum. He holds an MFA in Film and Television Producing and continues to develop feature and episodic projects that combine emotionally grounded storytelling with accessible, cinematic entertainment.
