Arthur "Artii" Smith is an experienced filmmaker who’s produced, written and directed a variety of visual content stretching across the Film, Television, Digital, and Commercial production industry. Artii is a Winner of Fox’s 2017 Millennial Voices Pitch Competition, a 2nd Place National Finalist of Gentleman Jack’s Real to Reel Competition, a 2nd place Winner for Best Short Film at the 2018 AT&T Create-A-Thon, a Roadmap Writer’s Diversity Fellow, a Greenhouse Arts & Media Creative Writing Lab Fellow, and a Quarter-Finalist of Final Draft’s Big Break Screenwriting Competition. He has not only proven he can direct captivating films but can also write engaging pieces that provide the framework for his work.

Artii has directed and written seven short films primarily in the scripted narrative space, and a feature film “Lilin’s Brood”, which received great reviews and coverage from various publications such as iHorror.com and MoviePilot.com. He has also produced over 55+ episodes of live television for Revolt Media & TV, and produced/production managed unscripted docu-style digital content for brands such as Toyota, Boost Mobile, Intel, Honda, Pandora Jewelry, and Coors Banquet.

Artii holds a Master’s in Film and Television Producing from New York Film Academy in Los Angeles, where he discovered his passion for writing and directing stories. Since then, Artii has been hard at work creating content surrounded around multi-cultural characters that truly represent his unique perspective. In his work, he aims to show that no matter what race or color you are we all experience the same struggles, hardships, and joys. Artii is dedicated to telling stories that mirror and pay homage to the community he comes from and he works tirelessly to make sure the unique characters he puts on screen break cultural stereotypes in an effort to truly represent the authentic voices of people that make-up this big beautiful world.

"Office Sweats", National Finalist of

Gentleman Jack's Real to Reel Competition, 2018

Office Sweats directed by Artii Smith was chosen as one of six national finalists to be considered for national Grand Prize. The film was screened in Los Angeles to 200+ attendees and in Miami during the American Black Film Festival.

 

"The Perfect Candidate"

2nd Place Winner of Best Short Film

Los Angeles AT&T Create-A-Thon, 2018

The Perfect Candidate, a 5-min Short film co-written, directed and delivered by Artii Smith in a little over 24 hours, won the 2nd place in the Best Short Film Category.

 

21st Century Fox's Millennial Voices Pitch Competition, 2017

Along with a team of four, Artii Smith successfully pitched several book Intellectual Properties to the Senior Vice President of Production of Fox 2000, Marisa Paiva. His team was chosen as the 1st place winners for best overall pitch.

 

Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting Contest Quarter-Finalist, 2017

My Screenplay "Blackout" was chosen out of 7,000 script submissions to be a Quarter-Finalist in the comedy category.

 

Greenhouse Arts & Media Creative Writing Lab Fellow, 2017

Artii participated in the short film workshop where he wrote, workshopped and shot short films based on his concepts.

 

Roadmap Writer's Diversity Fellow, 2016

Chosen to participate in Roadmap's Intensive Writer's Workshop, Artii Smith was able to workshop scripts and pitch his scripts to top industry executives.
